Arrange a Water Cremation

Compassionate guidance when you need it most

Losing someone you love is one of life’s most difficult experiences. At such an emotional time, making funeral arrangements can feel overwhelming.

At Aquatorium®, we’re here to make the process as clear and straightforward as possible, providing honest information, compassionate support and guidance every step of the way.

Whether you’re planning ahead or arranging a funeral today, our aim is to help you understand your options and make the choice that’s right for you and your family.

How to Arrange a Water Cremation

Arranging a water cremation is similar to arranging any other funeral.

Step 1 – Contact Your Funeral Director

Your funeral director will guide you through the arrangements and discuss the available options with you.

If Aquatorium® water cremation is available in your area, they can include this as part of the funeral arrangements.

If you don’t already have a funeral director, we’ll be happy to help you find one.

Step 2 – Choose the Type of Funeral

Water cremation can be combined with a range of funeral choices, including:

  • A traditional funeral service.
  • A celebration of life.
  • A private family ceremony.
  • A direct water cremation without a service.
  • A memorial service held afterwards.

Every family is different, and the farewell should reflect the life being celebrated.

Step 3 – Water Cremation

Once the funeral arrangements have been made, your loved one will be cared for at an Aquatorium® facility with dignity, professionalism and compassion.

Every stage of the process follows strict identification procedures to ensure complete care, respect and peace of mind.

Step 4 – Return of the Ashes

Following the water cremation, the ashes are carefully prepared and returned to your funeral director or directly to your family, depending on the arrangements you’ve chosen.

You may then decide to:

  • Keep the ashes.
  • Scatter them in a meaningful place.
  • Bury them in a cemetery or memorial garden.
  • Place them in a memorial urn or tribute.

Planning Ahead

Many people choose to record their wishes before they are needed.

Planning ahead allows you to:

  • Express your preferred funeral choice.
  • Reduce uncertainty for your family.
  • Ensure your wishes are understood.
  • Give loved ones confidence when making future arrangements.

If water cremation reflects your values, recording your wishes today can provide reassurance for tomorrow.

Water cremation is gradually becoming available across the UK.
